“I would love for you to visit my area and see the conditions we live in but the area is too dangerous.” Fatima Ibrahim Ishaq, Somalia
Fatima lives in an IDP camp, an area of Qahida where poverty is widespread. She has 4 children and no additional support of income. She earns little through cleaning and washing clothes. Fatima was selected by the team to receive a fully stocked kiosk so that she can earn a decent income to support her children and provide them with a better, hopeful future. She said, ” I hope this will support me and my children.”
The Forgotten Women team are in Somalia delivering our flagship kiosk project which is running with a 100% success rate, by providing women such as Fatima with a fully stocked kiosk means they can finally escape the dark poverty trap by having an instant income by trading. Each fully stock kiosk is delivered to women who have no support or a means of an income and have resorted to odd jobs and begging.
